A Centralized Exchange (CEX) is a centralized trading platform that operates on its own dedicated server infrastructure. Notable examples of exchanges include FTX, Binance, and Coinbase.
Users deposit their assets into the exchange's wallet, from where they can issue trading instructions. These instructions are recorded in an order book, and the exchange matches them accordingly. All transaction data is maintained on the exchange's centralized server, ensuring safe and efficient processing of trades.
